We are proud not to be your average internet radio station. And hope that after listening to us you agree. If you are not convinced, or are just curious about our story, read on below.
A brief history
To do this we need to return you to the summer of 2009. At Owen towers a little station by the name of Dodge Radio was born. It played all the very best music from the last 7 decades. Including, Pop, Rock, R&B and lots more.
There was occasional live programming from a diverse range of DJs. some of whom are still with us today.
For the next 11 years things continued to grow. We learned what worked and what didn’t. As well as, getting to know and love our very loyal listener base.
Over those years, we’ve also said hello and goodbye to lots of great shows. Including: Chart Show, the Saturday Night Party part B, Thank Goodness It’s Friday, the Saturday Night Party, Guess the year, the Non Stop Party Mix and the Hip-hop Take Over.
Since we started, we have improved our website to look more professional. our automation has gone through significant updates to provide you with the best listening experience. We are listed in most of the popular radio directories such as Apple TV, iTunes and Tune In Radio just to mention a few. We have also invested heavily in our social media presence and you can now find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
We then arrive in 2020. And what a strange year it was. Bad weather, a pandemic and Brexit all in one go. Despite this the team continued to grow and bring you great content. New shows were born, we started to teach you how to cook and keep you up to date with the latest sporting news.
To learn about the shows we currently offer, please visit our Schedule page. You can also listen back to previous shows by heading on over to our archives page. To find out the story behind your favourite Dodge Radio DJs then our meet the team page is where you want to be.
Charity Events
In August of 2014 Dodge Radio took part in its first ever Charity event. The Macmillan Cancer Event enabled us to work with a large network of Stations raising money for The Macmillan Cancer charity.
Then in August 2020 we hosted a series of activities, special shows and challenges. To raise money for Richard house children’s hospice. In total donating over £700 to the very worthy cause.
So that is where our story comes to an end. Just because that is the end of the story; that is not the end of the journey for us. We hope you will continue to be with us over the years as we add more chapters.
